There was in fact a post-overhaul test fire with number 60 some time ago.

The smoke in that photo was from a very light fire to warm the water in the boiler for a hydro test and no steam pressure was made that day.

#60 was re-mated with the tender this morning. There was a delay as one of the wheelsets had to be sent back out to repair a bad bearing.

I am unsure of when a test fire will be preformed.

I don't want to steer this off topic again but the notion that there was a design flaw in PRR boilers since the teens as stated earlier in the thread should not sit here unrefuted lest someone searching for 1361 encounter it. The standards and requirements have changed since then; that's all.

Now back to #60.

She's not yet moving, no. It was only a low-pressure test, working out a few of the parts. But the fact that they're this far along is a great sign!
