I am a landscape architect that has designed a G-scale train garden for an arboretum in metro KC. The key iconic component is a caboose. We thought we had one...or two or three, but they either were too heavily modified or in extremely poor condition.

The arboretum is ready to buy (or receive by tax deductable donation) any caboose that is in good enough condition to be transported to our site without significant repair. The caboose must appear (generally) as original on the outside. The interior condition is less important, though an original interior might allow us to open it up for tours. We recognize that we might need to repaint or recondition some of the caboose to bring it up to our expectations.

We have found one located in Ohio and purchased it. Thank you for your inquiries. Come visit the Overland Park Arboretum in suburban Kansas City to see our G-scale railway garden, featuring this caboose. Admission is free. We are building the first phase of the G-scale garden this summer and fall.
