Time for a roll call on cars from the former Lake Shore collection.
National Capital trolley Museum has TTC 4602 and BTS 606 (boat car) in service.
What is the status of the other cars?

The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum got 3 cars: Pittsburgh Railways 4145, Cincinnati St. Railway 2227 and the Toledo parlor car "Toledo".

4145 has been restored to broad guage and is operable, but will not be run in regular service until additional restoration work is completed on the car body.
The fund raising for restoration of 2227 to broad guage has almost met its goal. The trucks and motor work should go out to bid shortly.
The "Toledo" is a carbody, and work on it is in the beginning of the planning stage. This work includes deciding on the trucks, motors and control equipment to be used.
The trucks and motors from the Southern Iowa box motor (acquired for parts) do not seem to be appropriate, unless it was desired to have a parlor car suitable for pulling a freight train!

Allow me to add a bit to Art's response about Pennsylvania Trolley Museum's acquisitions from LSER: We actually acquired four cars. Southern Iowa box motor 100, in derelict condition, was also acquired, as hinted, and is awaiting dismantling. Our primary interest is the control system, which will eventually allow us to equip one of our carbodies, probably Mon West Penn 274, to become a more complete car. The standard gauge trucks and Westinghouse 305 split frame motors do not necessarily fit into specific PTM restoration programs. Interest in them has been expressed by several other museums but no specific arrangements for their disposition have been concluded. Both Cincinnati 2227 and "Toledo" are temporarily resting on broad gauge shop trucks in order to be moved about at PTM. 2227's trucks, altho not its own original trucks, are of similar design and will be utilized in its restoration to operation at PTM. Fund raising for conversion of these trucks back to their original 62.5" gauge is expected to allow a contract for that work soon. If you'd like to see the only surviving intact CSR car back in action, consider contributing to that fund. "Toledo" exists as a beautifully restored carbody that lacks interior furniture and fittings, a propulsion system, and brakes. Its conversion back to operating status is expected to be a long term affair. PRCo 4145 is mechanically operational thanks to a very successful fund raising to recondition the trucks and motors, utilizing parts that came with the car and others from PTM stores. Further work is required on auxiliary wiring, power wiring, brakes, and to a lesser degree, interior fittings. As is often the case with older restorations, the car looks great "at 300 feet or 300 mph" but closer inspection reveals some shortcomings we feel need correction before the car sees any public operation. PTM was very pleased with the outcome of the LSER dissolution, both for our own interests and for those of all the other involved museums and congratulates those responsible for the success of the program, especially Bill Wall and the principals of LSER.

In another post it was listed what cars Northern Ohio Railway Museum got. Here is a detailed report what is going on with those cars.

SHRT 25 (ex Cleveland Railway. 1225)
This car has received interior work. When received half the seats were leather covered with the other half in rattan. Some of those rattan seats in poor condition. The car now has all rattan seats and has had a multitude of hardware issues addressed. Trolleyville had let a lot of things like missing screws and loose hardware just go on existing. One volunteer made 1225 his mission and has addressed the hardware issues. He also replaced all the leather seats and most of the bad rattan seats with rattan seats in good repair. He also has given the car a thorough cleaning. Another volunteer has tapped into the lighting circuits so the car can have lights on fed from a plug in "shore power" arrangement. This is important since NORM does not have overhead to draw 600 volts from, YET! More on that point later. 1225 is now a key stop on the guided walking tours the museum gives each Saturday. Visitors are now taken into the car and invited to sit down in a Cleveland Trolley while the docent continues their talk.

SHRT 303 (ex-Aurora Elgin & Fox River 303)
This car has gotten the most work of the cars received in 2009. Work began last year with the disassembly of the end of the car Trolleyville smashed up. New steel bumpers were rolled for both ends of the car. These bumpers were outsourced to a local metal shop. Especially difficult were the way the bumpers made a sharp roll at each end to wrap around to the sides of the car. Other deteriorated steel members on the car end were replaced with newly fabricated steel. The "smashed" end of the car now has all steel work completed, the fender repaired and all finished off in fresh black paint; new wood flooring has been cut and fitted. These pieces of wood have taken a lot of work as a multitude of wiring and air piping passed through them. 303 is a safety car and that takes a lot of piping to make it work. A new wood base piece has made for the controller and new end posts are being made. These end posts are not simple posts. They are cut on an angle to accommodate the rounded radius of the car end. They also have many miters and slots in them for framing and windows. Finally a new dasher was cut and rolled ready for installation.

On the other end of the car the dasher has been removed as well as the old bumper. These bumpers as well as some frame members were just as deteriorated as the other end. Installed is a newly fabricated bumper as well as several other pieces of steel work. Repairs have been made to the pilot also. On this end the first coat of primer has been applied.

Work is progressing inside the car also. Windows have been removed from the smoker section for rebuilding. Also all the seats in this part of the car have been disassembled for rehab. Seat cushions and backs have been sent out for reupholstering. The entire car will have rebuilt windows and reupholstered seats. The car is being done in stages so materials stay in place until the volunteers/contractors are ready for them.

Airporter CTS 172
A platform and steps has been built so this high platform rapid transit car will be accessible to visitors to the museum. The interior still needs to be given a thorough cleaning. So that doors, the PA system, lighting and other equipment run off the cars low voltage DC system can be operated, a plug in regulated battery charger was designed and built by a volunteer over the winter. It has been tested and will soon go to work recharging the 110AH capacity batteries. Since this is a trickle type charger, it will take a few days to fully recharge the batteries. Then work can be done on the low voltage equipment to rehab it for service. The goal was to have a car that visitors could enter and contrast with the experience they had elsewhere on the tour in 1225. It will also be possible to feed the PA system with audio from a videotape or DVD so the car could also be used as a theatre.

SHRT OX (ex-NOT&L 1078)
No work has been done to this car from an operational standpoint. The interior spaces have been getting cleaned and organized for the OX to resume her line car duties. When the overhead goes up later this year, OX will be towed to the work location by Cleveland Railway 0711. 0711 has on her deck 1958 vintage Chrysler hemi turning a three phase generator that feeds a rectifier.

N&W caboose 518021, which is now for sale.
This car does not fit our collection policy and was packaged with other equipment we did desire in the LSE collection. While it would be nice to keep, we would rather have the money it will generate. Money that will net us more track under wire.

Another related project to the above car work is getting our first wire up and operational. Much planning and prep work has taken place, but a bitterly cold winter and a very soggy spring has prevented practically any outdoor work from taking place. It was reported on the TV weather that out of the last 57 days, it rained on 42 of them in northern Ohio. Even on the days it did not rain, the ground was still saturated. Now that the sun has returned, we hope to see things dry out so we can begin work on surfacing track, planting poles and stringing wire.

Not speaking in any official capacity for The Fox River Trolley Museum, simply reporting here..

The AE&FRE 304, had all of it's seat reupholstered and the car generally cleaned and serviced. The car has seen some operations, although these have been limited in order to mitigate any potential for damage. In particular the "south" end (as the car is aligned on this north/south line) had some damage in the end posts, somewhat due in part to the common problem all of these cars suffered, sagging end platforms (caused by years of neglect, road salt, and heavy abuse from newspaper loading)

There is a plan for full rebuilding of at least this end (if not both), when time, manpower, money permit, and then the car will return to it's proper traction orange and cream paint scheme.

The CA&E 458 also has seen some minor clean-up and was made operational recently.
Operational only in being able to move under it's own power, it's not ready for passenger service as yet.

A good start for a rather small, under-manned group.
