It was a good article on Flagg Coal, except on the online version it's abreviated unless you buy a one week subscription. Positive news articles like this are what's needed to get the public aware of the old steam engines, and a functional, running one at that that they can ride behind.

It was also my first time I was able to fire a steam engine, and hope to do another run or more next year.

Reasonably decent article. They constantly mis-spelled "Gramling" thoughout the story, and ran it on the last day of a 7-day stand.

Howard, was there much more to the article than what was available online?

The basic online version is only 1/4 of it. The paragraph about me isn't there, neither the one with our executive director. I will be leaving extra copies of it at the shop tomorrow due to requests. Look on the fridge.

It was also interesting to find out when the reporter spent 15 minutes with me that he had a N scale model railroad, so he had some personal interest in trains and an idea of what we do. Kinda easier to explain to a person like that what we Naugy volunteers do than someone completely out of the loop.
