Anyone care to comment on the heritage of the coach painted in L&N colors but lettered "Tennessee Valley" (In L&N style script)?

The heritage of the car is indeed former Louisville and Nashville....built by ACF in 1946. The fact that it is lettered Tennessee Valley instead of Louisville and Nashville is not something I care to comment on.

It's not an L&N car. It's an ex-Detroit and Mackinac, nee-Missouri Pacific grill car. Painted L&N scheme to match L&N 3101 on Hiwassee, but has yet to make it up there (if it ever will).

But if you don't like the way something is done, feel free to buy your own coach and paint it as you wish.

I'd say he didn't realize it was the MOP car. And before you get too spooled up he has bought his own passenger cars (note, plural) and he does paint them the way he wants them -- usually prototypically correct vs. make believe.

My mistake on the identity of the car. Could not tell from the video that was posted. And someone else asked if anyone "cared to comment" and I just said that I did not care to comment and I still won't

As for the 3101, when did TVRM acquire this? Was it one of the former L&N ACF cars owned by the 261 group? I found pictures of it, and it looks very nice in its new paint.

There is much confusion over the 3101. The 261 folks think they have the 3101, but evidence was found during restoration that TVRM's 3101 is the "real" 3101. Kyle is correct...it arrived as one of the three Hardin & Southern coaches (the others being N&W and C&O.) It is now in relatively correct L&N Hummingbird attire and serves on the L&N "Old Line" out of Etowah, Tennessee on Hiwassee River Rail Adventures runs.

It was fun waiting for the train to pass Ooltewah yesterday and asking Kyle if he remembered when the NS 25th Anniversary tripleheader "broke up" there in 1991 (when 611 & 1218 (s)teamed to Atlanta while 4501 continued to Cleveland.) Poor kid wasn't even born yet!

hahaha Steve, I may be young, but I've got to see a lot, especially last couple years. Especially during my time so far at TVRM firing.
