The other day my brother was driving up New York State Route 3 north from Syracuse and noticed the Rail City Historical Museum in Sandy Creek, NY was for sale. I know nothing about this museum but what is on their web site. It seem nearly defunct.

http://www.railcitymuseum.com/

Could anyone fill in the details as to status (rolling stock, operations if any, etc.)?

Do they have artifacts that other museums might like?

Thanks.

Marty -

I believe that the Gramling's Flagg Coal Company #75 came from Rail City. I think they picked out what they thought was the best of the string of saddletankers that that museum had on the property at the time. Maybe John or Barney could comment. I am not sure if any of those other engines still remain there at the Sandy Creek location.
