UP's E9A's have no nose door headlight-- or nose door for that matter!

UP removed the nose doors from the executive E's relatively recently. For most of their careers, they certainly did have nose doors.

I wonder if the museum plans to remove the HEP fans from the dynamic brake hatch and restore the d/b fan at some point? Would be nice! That vest pocket streamliner they're putting together is an excellent project.

Wasn't the 942 one of two E's that were at Pacific Rail dismantling several years ago? If so, where did the other one go?
Yes, it was. But, I don't know what happened to the other one.

The other one had been fixed up to some extent for a Southern California area project that never happened. Then it went off somewhere else

Looks like it's stored out in Commerce / La Mirada.

The Chandler shot is at the Arizona Railway Museum. Here's the information on the loco from the ARM's website at http://www.azrymuseum.org/roster/roster.html :

Quote:
Built July 1950 for Chicago & Northwestern number 5022 B (units came in pairs). Ran on the "400" trains. In mid 1960's the steam boiler was removed and replaced with a Head End Power generator for use in commuter service in Chicago. At this time the number was changed to 519. When METRA took over Chicago suburban service the engine became METRA 519. Retired in 1991. Sold 1992 to Pacific Rail Dismantlers who numbered her to PRDX 519. Sold 1997 to Monad Railway Equipment and numbered MREX 97. 2006 to Sonia Orlenko who moved the engine to the Arizona Railway Museum for display and storage.
