Unfortunately you would be amazed at how much infighting goes on at groups. Yet almsot always things look peachy from the outside.

Signing on as a member in 2009, and waiting a full two and a half years to say something? First in a few private messages, than posting something online? That has to be a record for lurking. Just call me skeptical-

Lackawanna565 v Lackawanna 565

If I had signed on as 'Trainlawyer' and then discovered that one of our favorite posters was using 'Train Lawyer', I believe that I would have stayed quiet also.

Question, What's the next steps for 565 ? I saw the locomotive at this years Rail Fest. It's really starting to look nice. You guy's are doing a great job on that old steam locomotive.

Hi John, The next phase, so to speak, is to install the pilot. We are few months behind in making the parts we need to do the install. But we are working towards that goal. We really need a couple of machinists to help us out. We have the material and the machines but need someone to work on the parts. Dan is working on them right now but if we can one or two more machinists to help that would be great. Matt was up yesterday and he is getting trained on mig welding by the shop.

We are doing some of the smaller stuff too. As we get different skills we are working other stuff to keep us going. The wood is removed from the cab and we are working on the report on the cab to put in the historic documents and get final approval to restore the cab. Also we have an individual who is getting all the dimensions for the new crossheads. So we are getting there but with the backlog in the parts to be made we are not where we would like to be but we are making progress.

Once we get her in a rolling condition then it's off to the sandblasting booth to remove the lead paint and then we can start to install the appliances.
