Does anyone know of any former Pittsburgh Railways PCC cars that exist and may be for sale ?

Several that were in very poor shape were recently scrapped. Try the PA Trolley museum in Washington PA. There are also a number of ex-SEPTA PCCs owned by Brookville Locomotive and they seem to slowly be reducing the number of those.

Nick is correct; there were several in decent shape in Uniontown PA that were for sale earlier this year but were cut up in July for lack of a buyer. I believe that the Pennsylvania Trolley Museum has a rebuilt 1600-series car that's not accessioned and there's a 1700-series car at the Ohio Railway Museum near Columbus that is for sale on Ozark Mountain Railcar (http://www.ozarkmountainrailcar.com/catalog.asp?catid=431&n=TrolleyInterurban-Cars).

There are a small number, 5 or 6, ex-Pittsburgh Rys. 1700 series cars among the 50 or so transit cars stored at Windber, PA. After outdoor storage since 1998, they may be a bit rough.

The non-accessioned car at Pennsylvania Trolley Museum, which may be available for sale, is PAT Transit 1799 (2nd), originally built by St. Louis in 1945 as PRCo 1613. Contact the museum thru it's website (www.pa-trolley.org) for info.

The last of the 10 Pgh. PCCs privately preserved at Uniontown, PA were scrapped in early August. Too bad you weren't reading this forum earlier in the year........

According to the Market St. Ry website (www.streetcar.org) ex-Pittsburgh 4008 and 4009 were acquired by San Francisco Muni in 2002. I presume that they are stored at a Muni facility. They have not been regauged and it is unlikely that Muni will modify them for service on the "F" line.
