The camera work and the host drove me away from it early. He acted like a hamster on speed and the constant zooming in on him as he was waving his hands around like a gangsta was a real turnoff.
I've noticed several of the cable shows seem to think all of the "artsy fartsy" camera work and flickering screens, fast zooms and fast cutaways are enough to make you motion sick.
Sigh......I guess I'm just getting too old.

Some of you know I write railroad fiction. As far as getting it published--not gonna happen, not in any conventional sense. The last editor I talked to gave it a dazed look and asked which one of the characters was a vampire or werewolf. I suppose this year they'd have to be zombies.

Some of the people who actually know the host of Extreme Trains claim he isn't actually like that and that the director kept telling him to "be more animated". While they were pitching to an imagined teenage audience with an amazingly bad case of ADHD, the frantic behavior and ragged camera didn't get that group's interest any more than it got the rest of us.

Every few years, some show comes along that makes people sit up, take notice and watch. It's hardly ever the show the current establishment thinks ought to. Executive meddling almost always leaps in demanding More Violence and More Sex and Louder Lower-Quality Music, which means the show becomes unwatchable in about its third year and gets canceled shortly thereafter. If they made this mistake once, it wouldn't be so bad, but I can think of at least a half-dozen examples right off the top of my head, and they aren't learning a thing.

Cheer up, Becky. Just saw on tonight's news that 900 dead people voted in South Carolina's last elections, so presumably the undead are getting around and doing business very nicely, thank you. No reason not to populate your stories with them as well.

I recall Jimmy Carter saying that at one time, in Georgia, you could only vote in four years' worth of elections after you were dead. A wife or other designate could cast your vote, but after four years the law figured things might have changed enough to make it hard for the living to know your opinion.

On the other hand, I've seen a lot of crews who could have stood in for zombies after too many long shifts in a row.
