For as hard as it seems to be out on the mainline these folks seem to be running all over the place in the Chicago area. I don't even think I've seen any advertisements for trips out of Chicago.

Maybe it won't work out. But maybe seeing if it does will be the best adventure ever.

Quite sure it was for a charter/conference? Can't remember where I saw the reference.

This train should be heading back to Chicago on Monday. Scheduled to leave Indianapolis at 8 a.m. and arrive in Chicago at 6:30 p.m.

It was a private charter for the convention of the Rail Passenger Car Alliance, a second (besides AAPRRCO) group of private-varnish operators. I must admit to being floored at the sight/images of the "Arizona Eastern" E8 roaring under Roosevelt Road--that loco was painted for an excursion that started up with some other stuff from the San Luis & Rio Grande/Iowa Pacific excursion stuff, and I'm a bit flummoxed at their trying to use an E8 on what is some curvy track on that Arizona line. The line was acquired by the Genessee & Wyoming conglomerate, and the AZER E8 was transferred to the Saratoga & North Creek.......
