Thought a few members of the forum would like to see the canopy / roof that is over the Georgia Northern car Moultrie, Moultrie Georgia.

Although, short on the ends and not wide enough, it kept the roof of the car mostly dry over the years to not render the car a disaster... Unfortunately the car does show water damage due to the overhang on the canopy not being wide enough, and long enough on the end, to stop a wind blown rain

On a side note, in photograph two, you can see the door that was cut in the car on the side when the car was located at a bank.

It would not take much to put side extensions on it, that would make what is currently covering it, look like a typical station platform canopy.

KRM canopy in New Haven... I suspect it can hold about 5 full size passenger cars by the looks of it.....

Re: Flat roofs & snow loading

Heavy-duty steel decking can be used to make a flat roof that will handle heavy loading. It looks to me like the flat roof over the DM&IR #229 is made of that material. It's also used in skyscraper & building construction.
