With the dropping of NH and P&WV I think you can say that NS operates mainline trains on tracks that used to belong to the others? Not sure about S&A and TAG? But certainly NW, SR, VGN, Wabash, NKP, C of G, PRR, NYC, PC, PRR, EL, LV, RDG, Erie all qualify

Once again-NH and P&VW got replaced by CNJ and the 'old' NS. I suspect that someone at NS figured out that NS does not operate on any former NH lines. As for P&WV, I have an idea-but I ain't telling.

I'm not sure what CNJ main lines NS operates (if any), but Allentown Yard is an ex-CNJ facility. NS operates some chunks of the old NS in North Carolina still, including Glenwood Yard. And a goodly stretch of Central of Georgia main line from Savannah is former-Savannah & Atlanta trackage, not to mention much of the complex at Port Wentworth. The only anomaly is the TAG.

The final decision of what paint schemes to replicate is still fluid, so not all the changes likely to be made are known yet.

Besides Allentown yard they operate north about 25 miles to Lehighton on former CNJ Pennsylvania Division and the mainline to NYC uses the former CNJ bridge over the Delaware River and a couple miles thru the town of Phillipsburg, NJ.

Miss Liberty is a very cool herald to use on any unit, especially a Hertiage Unit. I don't think NS runs on any ex-NH lines, unless one counts the Pan Am Southern partnership (50% NS) lines in Connecticut, so no New Haven isn't a surprise.

On a serious note, it looks fine to me. I've never gotten a good enough look at a Conrail unit to really note the details. And I didn't pay for the paint, so I have no right to complain.

You're probably hearing the ones who are looking at the GP30 at the RRMPA. It's okay though it is almost the same direction from Baltimore......

Wrong font? Wrong shade of blue? Hey, they're not trying to do a historical replication here, but just honoring some of the old railroads that make up the current Norfolk Southern system. Let's give it a rest and be extremely happy as to what they are doing.

Who cares about wrong font and shade! I'm just happy to see Conrail blue as there are only 14 or so active blues running around the entire system. What would be nice (and yes this is a simple fix) would be to put a Leslie S3L on there. I have one of Conrail heritage that I'll lend them!

Get 'em while you can. According to reliable sources, orders are out to send all 15 CR blue survivors on NS through the paint booths at Altoona and Chattanooga by the end of this month. That may leave a stray or two on CSX, though I think they were targeted for repaint as well.

The Leslie RS3L that dominated CR and predecessors is still somewhat easy to find all over the place. There may well be a pile of them outside the air brake shops at Chattanooga, Waycross, Altoona, Roanoke, etc.
