Cruising the midwest last fall, I saw a recurring theme: Swift steel refrigerator cars with the circle logo. I wonder why there are so many of them. How many different paint schemes did they have?

I assume there was a time they were surplus and would be donated free for the asking to tax-exempt organizations. Most museums are in desperate need of indoor storage space, so they made good "free" storage sheds on wheels.
