Only 2 PRR Alco Century units left.

As of last week, only 2 PRR Century units survive. Both are in good hands, 1 on the LA&L(C424) The only one owned by the PRR, and one on the DL(C425). It's time to start thinking where to send these 2 after their retirements. the C424 is OOS pending a rebuild that may never happen, while the C425 is still in regular service with a headlight configuration switch. 2 and 3 years until both celebrate 50 years of service, 45 of them after ALCO shut down.

All Lake State C425's and the 1 PC painted NYLE unit are now scrapped.

Certainly a worthy addition to the RMPA fleet.

As a historical footnote:

Our Alco C-636 #3642 was ordered by the Pennsylvania, but was delvered after the Penn Central merger. I always thought that would be the perfect unit for the museum, should the time ever come.

Why not work to achieve that goal then? I would think that 2415 would be a little more deserving because of it being the only c424 the Pennsy owned, but I'm sure we don't have any surviving C636's save the DL one.
