BTW, will any part of this move be visible in the webcams? And many thanks for getting them up and running again!

Just wanted to say thanks for the opinions of lifting the Shay that got moved today. All went well and the chains were wrapped around the bolsters and trucks blocked so they remained pretty straight with the frame. They had a tendency to tip. I missed the first pick from the stub track to live rail, after a few adjustments it went up just fine. Pics/link available on the Goodman #9 thread. The crane operator and crew members were great to work with, professional and friendly to boot.

The owner of the Polson #2 kind of took command on the ground as far as lifting goes and is quite capable of knowing how to go about it. Had I known he was going to be involved I wouldn't of been concerned. He also greased and oiled everthing up and removed the 3 cyl relief valves. When the little Shay was moved around she glided without a single clank, knock or squeal. The other two lifts were some ancient CN&W narrow guage equipment, 25 ft box car and combine. It was a very cold and wet day for the move, but no deaths, injuries or damage. In other words it was a great day!

Thanks for the interest. Cheers, John.
