Robby Peartree

Dear Friends and Family,

It is with profound sadness that we announce that our dear husband, father, and grandfather, Fred Springer, has left the station for his final journey to his eternal home. We are grateful for every day that the Lord shared him with us. We are glad that he shared himself with all of you. Your love and support during his long and courageous battle with cancer will be remembered always.

There will be a burial service in Sweetwater, Texas and a memorial service in Santa Fe, New Mexico. We will send details as soon as they are available.

Please keep our family in your prayers. Dale is surrounded by her family at this difficult time, and we ask that you allow her time to grieve. She will need your support in the many weeks, months, and years ahead.

In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in Fred's honor to the railroad or railroad museum of your choice, the Methodist Children's Home in Waco, Texas, Salado United Methodist Church in Salado, TX, St. John's United Methodist Church in Santa Fe, NM or any charitable organization that you support. That is the legacy that Fred left us all.

In the words of John Wesley that Fred lived by (and lived up to, though he never thought so himself), "Do all the good you can, by all the means you can, in all the ways you can, in all the places you can, at all the times you can, to all the people you can, as long as ever you can!

Thank you for the love and friendship you have shared with our dear Fred. Remember him always with love and laughter.

Sincerely,

Dale and family

Friends and Family -

Thank you all for your kind support for our family and the many loving tributes to Fred in recent days. We know there have been lots of questions about the details. Please know that you are all welcome, but we completely understand that it may not be possible for you to attend either service. We know you will be with us in sprit.

Arrangements have been made as follows:

Graveside Service - Tuesday, April 24, 2012 @ 1:00 pm
Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sweetwater, Texas
Reception to follow at 1st United Methodist Church, Sweetwater

Memorial Service - Friday, April 27, 2012 @ 1:00 pm
St. John United Methodist Church, Santa Fe, NM
Reception to follow at the church

As previously stated, donations in leu of flowers are encouraged.

Thank you again for your love and concern for us and for Fred.

Dale & Family
