CSR project goggles help

The wind and steam, etc, at speed can beat you up.
I read where the Octomom stood up in a convertible going 70MPH and her lips nearly beat her to death before they pulled her back down.

Brett, Thanks for the link to WileyX. Looks like their SG-1 model should work well. I'll persue it further.

Ross, you've overlooked the fact that they're going to update this locomotive with modern technology! You won't need goggles, you'll need an iPad, and then you just download the app and you're good to go. ;)

OK, on a more serious note, I suspect that a modified version of the "Bay Window" design for the cab window, like the ones on the Iowa Interstate Chinese steam, would be appropriate for this effort. It's ugly, but it seems like a practical solution to operating at speeds over 100 mph.

At 130 MPH, I'd want something more like a P-51 canopy mounted on the side of the cab! ;-)

Thanks Bob Harbison for that suggestion as I'd guess you have it close to right. I've never (yet) run one at 130 but I've done a bunch of miles at 80 per and I can assure you that no matter how "modern" the rebuild is there will be lots of dust in the air and if you have sensitive eyes you'll want good sealing goggles.

Should be a lot of fun following this projects progress.
