For a scale car restoration project I need two single acting brake cylinders. 8x8 is what the drawing specifies but I can still use a larger size.

Pm sent.

Contact the 3' gauge; C&TS, D&S, CRRM and the GTL, they all use the 8x8 KD and 8x12 KC type (combined reservoir and cylinder) and they either, have acuctions from time to time, or will sell junk from their scrap piles. If there is enough material to be overbored the scrap pile cylinders would be usable so take your inside mic's with you.

I too am looking for an 8"x 8" KC Westinghouse or New York air brake unit. I have checked with the railroads suggested with no luck. The unit will go on a Colorado and Southern 4 wheel bobber that I am restoring. Does any one have one that might be available, these small systems are very rare, I have only been able to locate two, one on C&S caboose number 1006 and one on the C&S stock car currently on display at the Colorado Railroad Museum. I am currently getting ready to build one of these for our project but would much rather use an authentic unit. Any help will be appreciated. Richard Farmer - gwenloco1@aol.com

Tweetsie bought out Crown park trains.....so, if Crown was using that size, perhaps Tweetsie can cast you new ones? Worth a try.
