Happy Birthday, Mr. Rowland! Thanks for your "track record" of running steam (and here's to future endeavors.) As I'm sure Mr. Lyndall can attest, The Great 611 Steak Company would be an excellent location to celebrate the occasion. From a reliable source, the servers generally gather and treat their special guests to a rousing proprietary rendition of 'Happy Birthday' complete with "whoo, whoo" on the end. Right Bob?

Oh, !!@#$%^&*()!!!!, Ross mentioned this last week, and I forgot about it this morning! Phooey, I never remember my wife's birthday either, except when she was 40; she'd made such a fuss the couple of years before I figured I'd better remember it.

Anyway, Happy Birthday, and many more!!

Happy birthday to Ross from one of your Erie Limited volunteers! May you have many more.

Also, hello to two of my friends from those fun years. Bob & Steve, I hope the years have treated you well.

Sincerely,
Charles Smith
Erie foamer

P.S. Hey Bob, I finally got my dinner at Starrucca House. Unfortunately, it was their last night of operations. :/

Happy B-Day C&O 614 ^_^

She's looks like a Southern Belle with that new paint job. Maybe she could be leased out to certain railway that is running steamers again, even though it's not the right heritage company of that railway. In that railways past, they did operated a sister locomotive to this one which was smaller and was also transformed into a Southern Belle.

Many thanks to all for the warm birthday postings and to my good friend Bob Lyndall for both thinking of me and for his incredible skills in getting all those pink birds to agree to pose in front of the 614 for that photo.

I've heard of horse whisperers and even dog whisperers but didn't know there existed a Flamingo whisperer.

Thanks to all.

Ross Rowland
