I spent several days researching in old track manuals, found a drawing for a fabricated head block, redrew it as a three way, and made adjustments for our rail. One of our members owns a machine shop, and believes he can fabricate them from the drawings.

Yesterday a couple of us spent the day with a transit and tape, and laid out the center lines for the two switches, as well as the main line. The field in front of the car house is now filled with survey stakes. The track crew finished the tracks inside the building. We should start building the yard throat in the next couple weeks. Our last hitch will be locating and acquiring (or fabricating) several more frogs. We are looking for No 5 and No 6 in 40lb to 56lb rail. We know of a couple of people who may have a few extra, alternately we may have to turn to a railroad track vendor.

We are optimistic, that the first equipment will enter the building in October.

Randy
