Post subject: Where can I download a map showing RR in Missouri?
PostPosted: Tue Sep 24, 2002 10:27 am

Ive been looking all morning for a site that has a map showing RR in Missouri. Anybody got any ideas?

Needless to say, Im riding the 1522 this weekend, unless Hurricane Isadore ruins my weekend.

I'm not sure if they have produced one yet, but if Steam Powered Video makes a rail map for MS it would be your best source. I also have a few of the old "Handy Railroad Atlas" books. Contact me through e-mail and I will copy and mail the pages to you, that would help you.

Are you by chance really looking for a road map that indicates where the railroads are so you can find a good place to see #1522? If so, I'm not sure the responses understand that, and if not just ignore me.

As a last resort, you can pick up a Missouri map distributed by the state of Missouri. Rail lines are shown on the map. These maps can be had at rest stops at the border of Missouri. There is one of these information centers at Highway 270 and Riverview Blvd, where highway 270 crosses the Mississippi river, in north St. Louis.

Try Topozone.com, they are interactive. Will show current tracks in use and old RR grades. Punch in town in area of question, you will receive several maps to pick from(if commmon name) and click on the map of interest. If you want GPS co-ords, click on "DD.DDD" under map. Luck.
