Tom -

Will be interesting to see if any of these pictures of this weekends operations include any "could have been" photos (the example herein fails as the "awning", or whatever that thing is, is a more recent addition to the Union Station "landscape"). In other words, a photo taken someplace where the background doesn't give it away as a 2012 photo.

Took this one yesterday in Galesburg. Does it qualify for a shot that can't be dated?

I'd give it 999.9 out of 1000 possible points, the only minor modern details are the cable TV wires on the telephone poles. (lowermost wires on the poles)

What about the welded rail?

I'm glad this went off without a hitch. Hopefully it can be done again in the future.

So, as with the recent NS Horseshoe Curve trips by NKP 765, have we started sending our thank you notes to the CEO at BNSF for this excursion?

This was an amazing trip and everyone involved should be congratulated. I was on the train Saturday from Chicago to Galesburg and was floored to find out that aside from the Amtrak pilot and conductor, everybody, including the kitchen staff, were volunteers from IRM. I had an amazing time and IF they do it again, I will be there.
