Hi,

Thought some of you might be interested in this. I was visiting BB-62 (the battleship New Jersey) over the weekend at her museum berth in Camden, NJ. (Side note -- totally worth a visit and allow at least AT LEAST three hours for a guided tour and a self-guided follow-up).

Anyway, it is a run down area... the kind of place that makes me look for rusty things under every bush.

The first thing I saw of RYPN interest was under a bush but it was not rusty. In fact, it looked pretty good. New Haven caboose C-558 is serving as the workshop for a garden railroad display next to an amusement park train at the Adventure Aquarium. The car looks to be in very good, fully intact, condition on the exterior.

After touring the New Jersey a yellow brick caught my eye at the Camden port building just south of the ship. A giant LEGO? Nope, just a critter buried in some weeds with boats and other assorted vehicles of land and sea transportation. Looks to be a GE 25 tonner. I could not get close enough to determine the gauge or if there was even track under it.

A quick search on the Intertubes turned up a decent shot of her:

Wondering if this is the same one that served as a billboard for awhile?

Correction: The loco shown is a GE 35 tonner, not 25. The hood level with the cab roof is the usual 25 vs. 35 spotting feature. There were several variations in the technical specs of the 35 ton model, but in general they were longer than the 25 ton and had a bit more HP.
