Does anyone know if there was a turn table at the CNO&Tp's Lexington rail yards? I know for a fact that there was a wye (back of September-October 1998 Ties issue), But recently I was looking at Bing maps and it showed two tracks which could possibly be the remains of a wye converging on one center point in a grassy circular patch. Is there any truth to the alignment of these tracks?

Two lines converging on a turntable? Perhaps. Two lines converging in a wye at a 90-degree angle to each other? No way.

Mike

Note: In this picture, the rail on the actual wye appears to have been pulled up.

Thanks filmteknik! I have maps that show the area in 1929 and being a former Lexington resident I had no idea that a turntable had been in Lexington except for the one that had been at the L&N's yards. There was a wye at this location previously and the leads to the turntable would have had more of a curve on them joining up in the building nearby.

Does anyone know when the turn table was removed? And also if any NS steam excursions ever used it?
