I am a bit confused by a photo that appeared in this thread on the ngdiscussion website. It was posted by "trainrider47" and the subject of his comments was "EFDTC Brazil 2-10-2 images". It shows various photos including some of the replacement 2-10-2's, but also includes a photo of 2-10-4 #306 after a shopping of September 1984. This was AFTER the explosion of Alco built #312 and after the 2-10-2's were in service. At first I thought that it was a cosmetic restoration perhaps before the Texas was put on display somewhere, but it appears that there is evidence of steam. Was one of the 2-10-4's actually restored? Or is the date of the photo just incorrect? My guess is that it is the later.
