Has anyone had recent experience with either purchasing semi-elliptical springs or having existing springs repaired/re-banded? My google search found four companies:

Dendoff Spring
Hadady Corporation
Beall Products
Benz Spring

The last springs I purchased were from Standard Steel so I have experience with any of these suppliers.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

We have had good luck with Benz. On both locomotive and coach leaf springs.

Greetings:
Dendoff: Good outfit to do business with, very proffesional, will help with engineering and provides CAD drawings of springs ordered. Springs are good quality. Can be a bit more expensive depending on exchange rate (Canada-US).
Beall: If you have drawings and engineering data, they are fine. Doesn't want to help with engineering. Springs are fine.
Benz: Good outfit to do business with. Very helpful with figuring out what will work and making suggestions for alternatives. Like to work from samples. Springs are of good quality. Prices and lead times are better than others.

Looks like you have a great suggested source already, but I'll add this as I looked into it about 7yrs ago myself, I spoke to Dendoff, shipping was a price factor as they are in Vancouver Canada.

http://www.dendoff.com/resources/locomotive.html

But, at that time, Dendoff was the only one that I spoke to that could test complete loco spring packs (new or existing) with loadings ratings and a report. I think someone from the Black Hills organization pointed me to them. I did not speak with Benz but will in the future if needed!

Mark,

Stathi had Benz reband, make individual leaves and an entire new spring for chiggen and did an outstanding job.
