Mark,

4501 should be painted as-per the desires of the individual/group who is paying for the rebuild. Anyone else who has an issue with it should go get a Mikado and start counting the rivets.

We were mulling over this same question for the 722 some years back, along with the whole argument about oil/coal fired (for the record, I like coal. ), before it became apparent that it was a mute point. I like the green for the varnish, but it would have looked terrible against the colors of the passenger equipment (not to mention those bay window gen cabs I hate). Now that they have gone to the single tone, I might be swayed. I sure there will be more than a few opportunities for the 630 and 4501 to be doubled headed. I'd like to see them match. At the end of the day, talk is cheap. I'll buy a ticket regardless of how you paint it. . . . .
