Amtrak announcement

Amtrak announced this morning that they are adding passenger service along the Cincinnati, Lexington, Chattanooga, & Atlanta corridor to bridge between the routes of The Cardinal and The Crescent. "The Kentucky Colonel" will begin on September 1, 2013 and will operate three times a week in each direction.

I'm excited! I just got an e-mail from the Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels (as I am a Kentucky Colonel). Evidently, we get free mint juleps from the cafe car when this service commences.

And Kentucky Fried Chicken will be served in the cafe car.
