Wow that is ugly! Funny how the engine house still had potential at this point in construction (concrete pad in the foreground)!

Say what you want, but I think it is beautiful that someone is spending dollars on large steam. Don't knock success.

RJ Corman literally started off with just a backhoe in the railroad construction business, sleeping in his truck between jobs. The fact that he grew his business into railroad construction, derailment cleanup, shortline operations, logistics and whatever else is simply amazing.

At one point, company trucks were repainted into "Corman Red' no matter how close the Ford other automaker factory color was.

That being said, given his rise to success, he can paint his fairly-new non-U.S. Historic Chinese steam locomotive any color he wishes. Same goes for the building he's built to not only house it, but to display it as well.

Well said David. Let me add the following to the critics: envy is such an ugly beast, especially when it rears it's head in such a thinly veiled way.

I suppose they'd have complained the first time ACL brought out purple and cream, as well.

As a side note, Corman, through his companies, has been a friend to preservation as well.

His companies have provided free or reduced cost moves and other services for the group in Bowling Green, KY, incluidng "hoisting" equipment off of the CSX main and onto the nearby display tracks.

His companies also moved the Kentucky Central NRHS Chapter's 2-6-2 to its current display location.

Wealth does not equate to taste,

I will not knock him for his sucess or generousity and yes it should be housed in a building,

However - the design is hidy-ous!

one could wish he had left out those roof accents - his money his taste and ya can't take it with ya, so with that being said good for him!
