With Philadelphia, Toronto and SF MUNI still using trolley poles, I would assume they are still commercially available. Is this so? If so, can anyone point me to the suppliers?

Aside from what's hanging from it, how is a trolley pole different from a standard "telephone pole" (power pole etc)?

D'oh! Just realized, you probably mean the one mounted on the car, not the wire support structure. Never mind..,

In Toronto, Ainsworth has supplied trolley poles to the TTC in recent years. There may be other suppliers here as TTC places this type of purchase out for bids.

There is a company - Gar ren Tooling. They make the trolley poles, and related parts (harps, bearings...), including reproduction parts for Earl catchers. They also make (or made) parts for G E PCC cars.

Ask for Bob or Gary Dent.
