Last Saturday as part of National Train Day a photographer special was held for fundraising for Frisco Mike #1352 and GTW #4070. Here is some of the photos from the Photo Shoot.

Ah, so that's what Santa Claus does during the off season.

So how're both projects coming along?

I'll tell Charlie that he looks like Santa when I see him next week....lol

4070's cab parts have been removed in prep for the cab to be taken off that was as a few weeks ago. I would join Midwest Railway Preservation Society facebook page to get all of the latest updates on 4070.

On the 1352 side we have finalized the funding plan to get her ready to be moved by railroad flat car. In April we had a locomotive inspection completed by one of the steam pros and it was determined the last move did cause some damage that it would not be wise choice to move her on her own wheels over a long distance.

So hopefully by the end of May first week in June there should be a announcement for fundraising for the move and also rebuild funds. We have decided to set the total dollar goal but have specific mile stones built in to the total funding needed to make sure the progress is shown both dollar and locomotive rebuild wise.

Thanks for the update. Glad to hear that things are moving forward on the 1352. That's a good idea about setting financial milestones. It'll give donors a feeling of accomplishment towards the ultimate goal.

Gee, I thought Santa was a CSX engineer in Baltimore (really Tom Hires, but he does play one whenever CSX has a Christmas party there).

Paul,

Thanks for the Santa Compliments. Roy (Santa) and Kevin are two volunteers in our group. Besides doing the railroad re-enacting they also do the civil war quite a bit so Roy keeps the beard for the Civil war stuff too. Thanks for your interest in our group.
