It appears, from casual conversations hither and yon, that the 50th anniversary celebration June 22nd of the Pa. Trolley Museum will be well attended by traction preservationists from across the East and Midwest.

We have folks from the Baltimore Streetcar Museum planning to attend. To that end, I'm looking for any folks from either the MOT in St. Louis/Kirkwood or the Illinois Railway Museum that may plan to be in attendance. The Maryland Rail Heritage Library has small selections of materials that are not relevant to its Baltimore/Maryland focus that rightfully deserve a home closer to their "native" turfs of St. Louis and Chicago.

Please PM or e-mail me back-channel if you plan to attend so we can arrange appropriate hand-offs.

I'm confused, the 1st trolley cars arrived at Arden in 1954, and the Museum was organized before then!

The June 22nd event is the 50th anniversary of public operation at PTM.

Art is correct. The Pennsylvania Trolley Museum opened (as the Arden Trolley Museum) to the public on June 23, 1963. We will be offering free display tables under a big tent both Saturday & Sunday June 22 and 23 for railroad and trolley museums. Reserve your table by sending an email to vsm@pa-trolley.org

Saturday will be "All the Streetcars You Desire" with trolley parades at 11am, 1pm and 3pm. This is a great opportunity to see cars that don't often operate!
On Sunday there will be a Classic Car Show as well as trolley rides and displays.
Hours are 10 am - 5 pm. Adults: $10, Seniors 62+ $9, Children $7. Special 2-day pass available on-line for $15 at http://www.patrolley.org

If you're doing the Behind the Scenes tour that weekend, may I recommend it? Best $4 anybody's likely to spend :)

Becky,
Thanks for your complement! We are actually planning guided tours of our Trolley Display Building and Restoration Shop that weekend at no additional charge. It will be a great weekend with lots to see and do!
