USA 4039 became Virginia Blue Ridge #5, sold to Steam Trains, Inc. (New Hope & Ivyland) circa 1965 for $3,500 but the deal fell through and the locomotive was sold instead to Earl Gil (Morris County Central) for $6,000. Today under restoration at the Whippany Railway Museum.

USA 6961 was a second hand 0-6-0 that had a brief and unhappy life at the VBR and now operates as #58 at the Wilmington & Western Railroad.

For the record, USA 6961 (built as Atlanta, Birmingham & Atlantic #58) carried #4 on the Virginia Blue Ridge.

Alan, I have a lot of old Steam Trains, Inc. - New Hope & Ivyland - Valley Forge Scenic Rwy. papers to go through which may have similar information. Does anyone want to help me go through the treasure trove?

Do you have any or know anyone with pictures of 58 when it sat at Virginia Blue Ridge? When we received 58 back in the 90's it was in bad shape. I'd be interested to see the "events" that led up to its condition.
