I personally agree black would be the way to go. As well as the high mounted light instead of the center mount. But like I said, I'm just glad to see any steam.

Sorry I was defensive. Must have been neat to grow up in Tamaqua during the R&N revival. I've trekked out there a lot.

Off topic question: is the coal-fired bread bakery product as good as the legend? Haven't tried it yet. I am ready for a trip to Hazleton for some scamutz, maybe a side trip for bread?

It was indeed quite neat. Once they restored 425 in '07, every weekend they had an excursion, I was able to see her run by usually early thursday morning and then i'd get to see her once again on the return trip on sunday. Sometimes Monday.

And to answer your question, there's this old gentleman who owns the "italian bakery" right down the street from where i lived. (Near the tamaqua train station.) He makes the best italian bread ever!

Yeah but what about when women get up there in age and just blurt it out? I'm sure 425 is old enough to squawk :P

I read on 425's facebook page that they took big blue on a test run to Pottsville, PA yesterday I believe and she's supposedly under steam again today. any truth??

Will 425 be leading any excursions or might she need a little more fine tuning and break in first (display only)?

Breaking and fine tuning was done yesterday and today. She's good to go. Don't know what the Steamtown game plan will be. Tentative schedule will see it deadhead to Steamtown on Friday. Saturday and Sunday at Steamtown. Deadhead back on Monday. Possibly running on the Schuylkill Haven Borough Days trips in September. Scheduled to run the Port Clinton - Jim Thorpe Foliage trips October 12 & 13.

So is 425 going to steamtown for the weekend?
