I've started a project to scan & post maintenance manuals for Alcos. Purpose is to provide anyone in preservation needing one free access. They are posted at the Fallen Flags site:

http://www.rr-fallenflags.org/manual/manual.html

So far, I've posted maintenance for the RS11/RSD12/RS18; and the S1/S2/RS1. Also, truck maintenance, and the manual on 244 engine governors. The rest will get posted when I get them scanned.

The AAR Type "B" ALCO and GE truck manuals are also on the Fallen Flags site, a true resource for all locomotive interests.

Rich-

GSC 4 motor swing bolster truck is the proper name of that truck.

You wouldn't happen to have a wiring diagram for a T6, would you? The Roanoke Chapter, NRHS needs to do some work on the wiring in N&W #41 and our copy of the diagram has gone missing.

NH0401, yes, so I've been told now, twice. It just doesn't "lock in" as such, so I'm sorry to be non-specific. I am cutting wooden part pieces right now, and will have them cast in 1/8th scale to build a working truck for an ALCO C420 I am fabricating in my shop. Try to find an "exploded drawing" of such a thing. Working from photo collections and some ALCO and GE maintenance manuals. Cute!

see enclosed. The only drawing I've seen (which shows up in some old Loco Cycs)
has the standard three views (top, plan and end) with some appropriate sections.

I actually collected these two shots for the project. I don't have the standard three drawing views you speak of.

BTW, can you give an update on your namesake locomotive?

I'm looking for operating, service, and parts manuals for an RS-1 with a 539 engine.

Downloadable pdf files if possible.

Thanks.
