Gyralite 17540 portable

Does anyone have the part number for a switch on a Gyralite 17540 portable? I've tracked it down to the Electro Switch Company but the part is so corroded that I can't get the full number. Any help would be appreciated.

Do you have a wiring diagram for the light showing the switch, EMD was a large user of switches made by Electro Switch Company, perhaps you could find a matching part number from EMD's parts catalog as railroad suppliers tended to use common parts in their products. It could be very similar to an EMD headlight dimming switch.

Thanks Mike, I don't have a wiring diagram. All I have is the Pyle National catalog page from 1956 describing the light. Unfortunatly it says the part numbers are listed on the next page (which of course I don't have).

I contacted Electro Switch directly and they are unsure of which switch was used without the full number. They offered me to send the switch to them and for a $75 fee they will take a look at it.

I was hoping to avoid the fee but worst case scenario I'll have to eat it.

Do you know what the switch is controlling, bright dim off etc. and how many positions, also most electro switches are a series of stacked segments with multiple normally open and normally closed contacts, perhaps a photo of the rear of the switch? I would recommend you contact Trans-Lite as they still produce Gyralites.

EMD 8192762 is the only p/n I was able to turn for a gyralite control switch.

Also, I have seen a switch marked 'Gyralite' which was a discrete unit-applied to the outside of the control stand. This is a lever actuated switch that transcribes a 180 arc. The housing is semi-circular- approximately 6" diameter.

Thanks for the replies. The switch actually mounts on the gyralite housing itself. It has 2 "ON" positions and 2 "OFF" positions and is a 3 stack switch.

I can't seems to be able to upload a photo for some reason.

Also Trans Lite can't seems to find that part either.
