Hi Guys; This is an idea started awhile back by Ross Rowland when NS restarted its steam program. With the Christmas season just around the corner, this could be a great opportunity spread some good will around the railroad industry. Recently both the folks at CSX & NS have both donated sizeable amounts of money to the restoration, preservation and operation of both the N&W 611 and the ACL 1504. My suggestion is we should add the NS/CSX CEO’s & the heads of the PR departments to our Christmas card list and include a thank you for their support and donations. This could be also sent to any other railroad of your choice that has donated or supported to any other preservation projects (the UP Bigboy, etc…). Sometimes a few thank-you’ notes can work wonders. Have fun – David Notarius, London UK, ex New Hope PA
(….and a tip of the hat to Ross - and what about your Golden Spike Sesquicentennial Express in 2019?…. {ha}!…)

As the old saying goes....you catch lots more flies with honey than vinegar....I think David's right on.

It does make a difference especially in this highly impersonal age of everything sent via internet to send a nice Christmas card with a thank you note inscribed thereon.

Here's the mailing addresses;

Mr. C.W. Moorman, Chairman,President and CEO
Norfolk Southern Corporation
Three Commercial Place
Norfolk, Va. 23510-9227

Mr. Michael J. Ward, Chairman, President and CEO
CSX Corporation
500 Water Street
Jacksonville, Fl. 32202

My cards go out on Dec. 1st. Hope you'll join the effort.

Here's an early Merry Christmas wish to you and yours.

Ross Rowland
