It should be noted that all the equipment listed above is three-foot gauge.

And here I am working on standard gage now........

8 is a hoss that could pull the mountain much less the train with the brakes set, and 12 is a real sweet runner if the firebox issues were solved since I knew her. I hope both find a good new home.

These have been for sale for quite some time now....maybe the Ashbys came down on the price?
As I recall, they were for sale back in '08 when I first looked at them at CRRM. It seemed they were for sale to anyone with the money.... but the state or the new operator of the Loop, of course.
If I remember correctly they were asking about $3-4 million for all of it. I don't recall there being anything set aside for the museum back then.

There is also a thread on the Narrow Gauge Discussion Forum:
NGDF

As I recall an asking price or two are quoted. And a whole bunch of "would it not be nice, if ...." posts.

And from what I've heard there are people who would sure like to see the former Lake Tahoe car find a home at either California State Railroad Museum or Nevada State Railroad Museum.

We all have our dreams.
