Piedmont Chapter NRHS ex-NYNH&H Keystone State ?

The link below has an article about the closing of the Piedmont Chapter's museum at Belmont, NC. The thread also mentions that the nee-New Haven Sleeper Lounge "Keystone State" will be/has been sold. Does anyone have information on its current status and owner? They also own a sister to this car, "Pine Tree State" which has been modified to meet Amtrak PV reqirements. It is my understanding that the "Keystone State" retains its original DC electrical system.

Not sure if you noticed, but this information dates back to 2004...

Can't offer much, however if my memory serves me correctly, I thought the Keystone State had some structural damage due to a derailment at some point.....

Found a photo on Railroad Picture Archives of the car sitting in the same spot in 2009. I'll take a stab in the dark and say its still there.

Currently there is a GE 70tonner at this location along with this car. Does anyone know its history?

Any update on this Belmont, NC display? "Captive Cabeese" has the caboose now over on the Waccamaw Coast Line in Clinton, NC.... Google Street View shows them still there in June 2012........

I was there last month and it looks very much the same. The P&N depot property is in a state of change....situation not exactly clear. The 70 tonner is an empty hulk. Patriot Rail has trackage rights on the Belmont Branch but those stop about 1.5 miles short of this end of track........

History of NH "Keystone State":

NH 6DB club lounge sleeper #551 "Keystone State" was one of four such cars built in 1955 by P-S in Lot #6941 to Plan #4193 as NH #550-#553. After the PC merger, renumbered as #4433-#4436, but not in the same order. All four were acquired by Amtrak as #3210-#3213 (in the PC order). NH #551 to PC #4433 to AMTK #3210.

NH #553 "Pine Tree State" (PC #4435/AMTK #3212) is now at Spencer. Amtrak registration number #800236.

NH #552 "Nutmeg State" (PC #4436/AMTK #3213) was at one time part of Al Nippert's collection, current whereabouts unknown.

I have no info for NH #550 "Bay State" (PC #4434/AMTK #3211).

The guy who knows all about those cars is Jim Fetchero, he ran the Pine tree when it was the Chapters and he knows where all the cars went. The Keystone was sold to a guy who had some other cars. I looked at the car and it needed a lot of work since it was the parts car for the Pine Tree, also the car was hit by a box car on Southern and from what I was told that is how the chapter got it. I think the Nutmeg is the P&L office car.
