Among locomotives sold by RRPX to C&K Scrap Metal was Morristown & Erie C424 4231, a former Canadian Pacific locomotive. On April 3 it was being scrapped in Morristown.

Is RRPX shutting down? Their web site is gone. Is the 636 (former Alco 636-3) in danger?

For the record, only two FL9's are being scrapped, the #487 (gone last week) and #486 (sometime this week). The #485 is safe for now.

Former CN M420W #3562 and former CP C424 #4231 have also been scrapped, and former Erie Mining RS11 #7205 is being scrapped as we speak.

As far as vandalism - yes, copper and wires were the main problems, besides all of the parts that the M&E has taken off themselves to keep the #488 and #489 running in Maine. Railfan "collectors" have also taken anything of collectible value. As much as I don't want to see an FL9 scrapped, both #486 and #487 have been quite literally reduced to shells with very little preservation value.

Of a class of locomotives where only 60 were ever built, about 20 surviving is a pretty decent percentage.

According to a FB post by Steve Barry who went to Morristown today, the 486 was chopped today, cut lengthwise to salvage interior parts and the prime mover:

It was reported elsewhere that both of these - especially the 7215 - had been vandalized/stripped by metal theives, which is largely the reason for their demise.
The NW5 in Oregon suffered the same fate...
