50-ton GE truck weight

Hi,

Can anyone tell me the weight of the trucks on a 50 ton (ballasted 45 tonner) GE? The trucks have a chain drive between the powered and non-powered axle as opposed to the earlier side-rod version.

According to a frequent buyer and seller of such items a complete truck for a chain drive GE 45/50 tonner weighs 16,000 lbs.

According to the GE Maintenance Manual, Diesel-Electric Locomotives: 25, 44, 45, 50, 65, 80:
Cab and platform with all equipment 45 ton-58,000 50 ton-98,000
One complete motor truck 45 ton-16,000 50 ton - not listed

I have no explanation for the discrepancy except that the GE manual specifically refers to the 50-ton as a 2-axle beast. Other than that, it has nearly identical spec to the 45-ton.

One truck for our 70 ton GE centercab weighs 23,000 lbs., with two motors and gearboxes.
