Tip of the hat to Nevada Northern's Mark Bassett. Once again last night he scored some great publicity for the railroad with another appearance on History's American Restoration show, taking up nearly half the program with the restoration of an early 20th Century Velocipede, by restorationist Rick Dale. They even got the railroad in the show, by including in the plot partial payment of the restoration by giving Rick throttle time on Ten Wheeler #40 at the end of the program. Really, really great visibility for a somewhat isolated operation. I'm guessing nearly 1 million viewers probably saw the program in both airings last night, plus it will air occasionally for several years to come. Mark mentioned in the program that this was (I think) the 7th item he has had Rick Dale restore for the NN, every time getting some mention of the railroad in the process on the show. It would be interesting to know if there has been any way of measuring if this publicity has noticeably increased patronage for the NN over the past several years the show has been on? Anyway, it's really great to see a very worthy operation get it's due on TV.

Finally caught up with both new episodes on the DVR. I agree with every Paul said, it is awesome, it you also have to love that of the two season debuts one starred Mr. Bassett and other George Clinton. Talk about giving rail preservation a high profile! Nice work.

Is there a link to the NN - Nevada Northern RR, would someone be so kind to send the link? I was harassed about this railroad all through my life by friends who never understood.. they called it the NN- NO NO or NORTHERN NORTHERN Railroad. Yes KUDOS to the Nevada Northern RR for this!
