Here is a photo of the caboose and passenger car at Meadowcroft Village, both under tarps, taken from an undated Google image. The site matches the on-the-ground photo above.

My Google Earth application identifies that image to be dated 5/16/12.

So this view is prior to the car being moved to Sacramento.

So here is a classic Art Huneke photo of the PRR Sunnyside Yard in New York City in 1955:

I've seen this image numerous times before, but it's only now that I notice a couple of cars in the background (just right of center) that are painted in UP yellow. Could the Overland be among them?

I see one armour yellow car in the Art Huneke photo and it looks like a lightweight sleeper rather than a heavyweight business car. PRR actually rostered about a half-dozen cars in UP colors that were used for pool service in the mid-50s. Photos of them in UP colors with PRR lettering are extremely rare, but this might be one of those cars.

The caboose in question was originally NKP, dating from c.1909. It did serve N&W after 1964 and thus arrived at the racetrack in N&W paint and lettering.

At last report is was still available to anyone interested, "as is, where is." You pay for removal and it's yours. Contact Meadowcroft Village if you're interested.

A couple of tracks in front and slightly to the left of the lightweight sleeper I see one end and part of the roofline of a second UP car, but I can't make out if it's clerestory or not.

I have taken the information in my post on the previous page, updated it and created a new web page to capture information as I discover it by additional research.
