Not that I'm aware of, but I'd say it would start as soon as the new units are through their break in / testing phase. Some of the wreck units may go right away.

I am pretty confident an AEM7 will be with us in preservation, but I have yet to hear any chatter about anyone wanting an HHP8. I can't make the case to save one, but in terms of aesthetics they are my favorite NEC motors since the GG-1.

Funny how there are still G's that need saving and we are talking about units 3 generations older!

Location: Somewhere east of Prescott, AZ along the old Santa Fe "Prescott & Eastern"
There are reports floating about on Facebook Amtrak groups that:

901 (rebuilt to AC) is sitting at Wilmington "parted out" as a parts donor for other AEM7's, but with an eye towards possible static preservation;
902 (oldest, lowest-numbered original DC one left) has been stashed away on a siding at Washington's Ivy City for future preservation.
