Wonder why they put the throttle lever backwards from the way it always was?

She looks good, and barring the "big one", she should stand well preserved for a long time. Question: I hate to see a serviceable steam locomotive stuffed and mounted, so to speak. Was anything wrong with the Hudson's operational capability when she was purchased for display? I know she was considered light for Southern's excursions.

A search of the RyPN archives includes this quote from an earlier thread and a link to an extended thread on the saga of CP 2839.

Quote:
Royal Hudson had 5 partners-- Eagleson, Ziel, Peter VanderVeld (EL trainmaster), and I think additionaly Howard Serig and Victor Hand.RH Co. leased 2839 to Atlantic Central in late 1972. AC was primarily former Quakertown & Eastern people, as I recall-- Bob Spanagle, Don Fenstermacher, etc. When 2839 was at AC's location at Northhampton & Bath in PA's "cement country" in 1972-76, the jacket and lagging were off.The "California" biz car was at Edaville, rotting away, when Nethercutt obtained it. I think it was a B&M biz car, given to Blount by his good friend Pat McGinnis, who also gave FNB the 1455 and 3713.
