Having recalled a few fabric roofs fail (including the Silverdome), I tend not to think of fabric failure alone as the same sort of thing as structural failure.

If wind or snow tears the fabric, and snow/wind fall onto your collection, that's one thing. If the fabric properly transfers the load to the beams, and as a result the beams fail and drop on your collection, that's QUITE another.
