Need help identifying name plate

My coworker recently gave me a small name plate that's been sitting in his garage labelled AMERICAN CAR AND FOUNDRY COMPANY BUILDER BERWICK PA. He says he's unsure of its purpose or origin having been given to him by a relative who worked there some time ago. A quick internet search revealed some information on the company: (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_C ... ry_Company).

Anyone know exactly what I have here? I've attached some photos of the plate which measures two feet long and only one inch wide. I'm unsure of the metal composition though out does appear to be corroded in spots.

At first glance, it appears to be a nameplate originating from the AMERICAN CAR AND FOUNDRY COMPANY BUILDER BERWICK PA.

This type of plate was mounted above the end doors on subway cars built by ACF in Berwick in the early years of the 20th century. It's cast brass. Somewhere around here I have a photo of myself holding one of these plates, taken at the Magee Transportation Museum in Bloomsburg, Pa. around 1965 or '66.
