I was down at the railroad last weekend to help decorate the cars for the Santa trains. Stopped down at the engine house and checked out the Baldwin 060 engine. The boiler company was working on a couple of the new stay bolts.. We are hoping to have it running by Christmas. It looks real good. We should have the 4 CP passenger cars in by the end of November.

What a pretty engine -- and with a wagon-top boiler no less!

According to the "Bible" as published by J. David Conrad, number 3 was built by Baldwin in March of 1920 for the Beech Bottom Power Company in West Virginia (s/n 53038). Her wagon top boiler and overall appearance, makes her look to me to be rather archaic for an engine built that late. It almost makes me think she was designed as a 2-6-0 and made into an 0-6-0 for the customer. Saying all that, I am sure that there will be folks who come up with other similar examples.

BTW, I agree she is one really good looking locomotive and I am happy that HVSR decided to restore her to operation.
