I don't understand how they got it moved without certain experts here on RYPN telling them what to do, telling them to raise money in a panic at the last minute, telling them how to do it, and standing in line to donate and physically help out.

Sheesh. They got it moved. That was their goal. Get over it.

The still clips at the end of the video clearly show that the bell yoke was broken before it was moved.

This was 2 or so months before the move.

Bpetit and others - Sorry, I guess I got it wrong, and the bell yoke was broken in the move. I assumed that the shots at the end were before the move, since it is just sitting - ON THE LAWN?

This is a 31" gauge engine used by a brick factory in Slidell Louisiana until the
business shut down in the 50's, maybe earlier. The engine was stored inside
until 1958 when local railfan Will Ed Butler bought it and displayed it under a
shed roof on his property. It had been used for 50 years and was completely
worn out at that point. About 12 to 14 years ago the little museum bought it or
it was donated. The "tender" behind it is just a
water tank off another small engine, not connected, just sitting there on its bottom.
The bell is a small reproduction iron farm bell of recent manufacture, probably in
China, and was never used on that locomotive. The engine should have a roof
built over it to preserve what is left of it.

Thanks for the information Tim, I had been unsure of which locomotive this was.

On another note, where exactly was this locomotive moved to, assuming that it was moved from the museum?

to a welcome/tourist center about 5 miles or so. She still carries her whistle, I've got to get the museum to store that inside. Needs cleaning though.

Timmy, thank you. I'll make note for a roof.
